Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure high availability and security.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot network issues to minimize downtime for city services.
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of cloud-based solutions (Azure/AWS) for municipal applications.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data from breaches and cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform capacity planning to ensure scalability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network engineering, systems administration, or IT infrastructure management.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, AWS Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, LAN/WAN technologies, and routing protocols.
- Proven experience in project management and leading technical teams.
- Ability to obtain a background clearance check as required for government employment.
