Responsibilities
- Lead Development: Design, code, test, and deploy complex software applications and systems architecture.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior developers and conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure technical standards and security protocols.
- System Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in legacy systems and implement efficient, scalable solutions for high-traffic environments.
- Security Compliance: Ensure all technical solutions comply with NIST security standards and state privacy laws.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and government stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliverables.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, API specs, and system architecture diagrams.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering, IT architecture, or system administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, Python, or C#; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Certifications: PMP, AWS Solutions Architect, or CISSP certification is a plus.
