Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for internal government staff and departments.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and citizen information.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure hardware and software compliance and upgrades.
- Document system configurations, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure optimal functionality.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or IT support within a government or corporate environment.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (background check required for government positions).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
