Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for city services.
- Develop and enforce security protocols and disaster recovery plans to safeguard sensitive citizen data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and streamline government workflows.
- Conduct regular system audits and capacity planning to optimize resource allocation.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior IT staff and support analysts.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or IT infrastructure management within the public sector or enterprise environment.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and virtualization platforms.
- Deep knowledge of network security standards, including encryption and access control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours during system maintenance windows and emergencies.
