Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level IT infrastructure including cloud platforms, networks, and security systems
- Lead migration projects from legacy systems to modern cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Develop disaster recovery protocols and ensure 99.9% system uptime for critical state services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business objectives
- Monitor system performance using advanced tools like Splunk and Nagios
- Create technical documentation and provide mentorship to junior IT staff
- Ensure compliance with state and federal cybersecurity regulations (FISMA, NIST)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure management
- Expert-level certifications in AWS/Azure and cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CCNP)
- Proven experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of government IT compliance frameworks
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
- Active California State IT security clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for project delivery
