Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Closure) for enterprise-level IT solutions.
- Manage cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and subject matter experts, ensuring clear communication and alignment with citywide goals.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement with City Council, executive leadership, and community groups to gather requirements and manage expectations.
- Monitor project budgets and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility and optimal ROI.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with Washington State procurement regulations and City IT policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Project Management experience in the public sector or a large enterprise environment.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is required.
- Proven experience managing large-scale software development lifecycles and modern IT infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar PM tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
