Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure) for large-scale IT infrastructure and software deployment projects.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget constraints.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between IT teams, external vendors, and county department stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, while implementing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor project performance using KPIs and metrics, providing regular status reports to executive leadership.
- Ensure all projects comply with county procurement policies, data security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior project managers and contribute to the development of project management methodologies within the department.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within the government or public sector.
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with budgets exceeding $500,000.
- Strong proficiency in Project Management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (Jira, MS Project, Asana).
- PMP or PgMP certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience with state or local government IT frameworks is a significant plus.
