As a Senior IT Project Manager in King County, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of complex IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work alongside diverse teams of engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to modernize our infrastructure and improve services for over 2 million residents.

Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Projects: Direct the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale IT projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for executives, technical teams, and external vendors, providing clear and concise status updates and reporting.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and minimize impact.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor expenditures to ensure financial accountability.
- Process Improvement: Implement Agile and Waterfall methodologies to optimize workflow and improve team productivity.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet stringent government standards and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT project management, preferably within the public sector or a large enterprise environment.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps) and Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus among diverse groups.
