Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the county's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and peripheral devices for county employees.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls, to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, deploy, and integrate new IT solutions and software updates.
- Document technical processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides for future reference.
- Conduct regular system audits and hardware inventory management to ensure compliance with county standards.
- Train staff on new technologies and best practices to improve overall departmental productivity.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Valid professional IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Proven experience with network security protocols and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
