Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust network security protocols and firewalls to protect against evolving cyber threats.
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify system weaknesses.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts 24/7 to detect and respond to potential incidents immediately.
- Develop and maintain IT security policies, standards, and compliance documentation aligned with NIST and federal regulations.
- Lead incident response teams to investigate security breaches and implement effective remediation strategies.
- Provide expert technical guidance and training to internal staff regarding security best practices and compliance.
- Manage and configure security information and event management (SIEM) tools and log analysis systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to ensure the highest security standards for third-party applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, specifically within government or large enterprise environments.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or GSEC.
- Deep knowledge of network architecture, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Strong proficiency with security tools such as Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), and IDS/IPS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain a favorable background check and necessary government security clearances.
