Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure federal IT networks and infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments, security audits, and penetration testing to maintain compliance with NIST and FedRAMP standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and software solutions.
- Respond to and resolve critical system outages and incidents with minimal downtime.
- Document technical architecture, standard operating procedures, and change management logs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent military experience).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in federal IT environments or government contracting.
- Active Top Secret security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) is required.
- Strong proficiency in Linux (Red Hat, CentOS) and Windows Server administration.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity protocols, encryption standards, and network security principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with government stakeholders.
