Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations.
- Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and proactively resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Enforce strict cybersecurity measures, including firewall management and intrusion detection systems.
- Manage software licensing, vendor relationships, and hardware inventory across all city departments.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to City staff regarding software applications and IT best practices.
- Conduct regular security audits and compliance testing to meet federal and state standards.
- Lead incident response efforts for IT emergencies and data breaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of experience in network administration, system engineering, or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.
