Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the county's network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state cybersecurity standards.
- Technical Support & Leadership: Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and mentorship to junior IT staff while serving as the primary point of contact for complex technical issues.
- Project Implementation: Collaborate with department heads to plan, execute, and deploy new software and hardware solutions.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure service level agreements are met and costs are optimized.
- System Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent vendor-neutral certifications.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical system outages.
