Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible, and high-performance websites for Wake County departments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure strict adherence to web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and county branding guidelines.
- Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement security best practices.
- Manage web content management systems (CMS) and optimize site performance for speed and SEO.
- Train non-technical staff on website usage and content management procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web development, preferably within the public sector.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Experience with server-side languages such as PHP, Java, or .NET.
- Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
