Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of server infrastructure and virtualization environments.
- Develop and enforce robust IT security protocols to protect sensitive state data from cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and integrate cloud solutions.
- Perform regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure high availability.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct technical training sessions on best practices.
- Respond to and resolve critical system outages and complex technical incidents with minimal downtime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, preferably within a government or enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and DevOps practices is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or PMP are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
