Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of the state’s core server infrastructure and virtualized environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network solutions, ensuring compliance with state and federal cybersecurity protocols.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime for government services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade legacy systems and integrate modern cloud technologies.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Document technical processes and maintain comprehensive IT assets and inventory records.
- Provide advanced technical guidance and support to junior IT staff and end-users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in systems administration or a related IT role.
- Strong technical proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with government IT security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA are a significant advantage.
- Ability to pass a State of Indiana background check and security clearance investigation.
