Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Design, implement, and monitor network security protocols to protect state data assets from cyber threats.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex system failures, ensuring minimal downtime for state agencies.
- Automate deployment processes using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new software solutions and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits of system configurations to ensure compliance with state IT policies and standards.
- Mentor junior administrators and provide technical training to staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent military/experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or IT Infrastructure.
- Valid certification such as CCNA, Azure Administrator, or MCSA.
- Strong proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
