Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's server infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of Linux and Windows environments.
- Implement and monitor advanced security protocols to protect sensitive government data and systems from cyber threats.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with minimal downtime, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new software solutions, manage patches, and execute system upgrades.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior IT staff members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Document technical processes and configurations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, RHCE, or similar are highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced government environment.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to pass a thorough background check and security clearance are mandatory.
