Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard sensitive government data.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across various departments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and deploy new IT solutions and infrastructure upgrades.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to prevent downtime.
- Document technical procedures, system configurations, and changes to ensure knowledge continuity.
- Train junior staff and government employees on IT best practices and new software implementations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance purposes.
