Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the City's server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot complex network solutions to ensure optimal performance and redundancy.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data from cyber threats and breaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiatives and modernization projects.
- Perform regular system audits, backups, and maintenance to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide Level 3 technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and helpdesk technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government, healthcare, or large enterprise environment.
- Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
