Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network infrastructure for the municipality.
- Perform system administration, troubleshooting, and technical support for internal government departments.
- Analyze data requirements and develop solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology projects on time and within budget.
- Monitor system performance and security to prevent data breaches and service interruptions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and support analysts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems analysis, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, server management, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with government compliance frameworks and cybersecurity protocols (NIST, FISMA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid California driver's license and proof of residency may be required for this role.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CCNP are highly preferred.
