Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex network architectures (LAN/WAN) to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical network incidents and outages, minimizing downtime for county operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud services (Azure/AWS) into on-premise environments.
- Automate network configurations and documentation using Python and Ansible to streamline IT operations.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the lifecycle of network hardware and software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent advanced certification.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies.
- Experience with Zero Trust security models and network segmentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
