Responsibilities
- Oversee park maintenance operations including landscaping, facility upkeep, and safety inspections
- Design and execute recreational programs for diverse demographics (youth, seniors, families)
- Manage event coordination for festivals, sports leagues, and community gatherings
- Train and supervise junior staff and seasonal workers
- Develop partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders
- Monitor budget allocations and resource allocation for assigned parks
- Ensure compliance with city regulations and safety standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Environmental Science, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive experience in parks/recreation management
- Certification in CPR/First Aid and facility safety protocols
- Proven budget management experience ($50k+ projects)
- Strong conflict resolution and community engagement skills
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends
- Experience with grant writing and fundraising preferred
