Responsibilities
- Oversee daily park operations including maintenance, safety protocols, and facility management
- Design and execute high-impact recreational programs for diverse demographics
- Manage special events with 500+ attendees (festivals, tournaments, cultural celebrations)
- Lead 5+ seasonal staff in implementing conservation and sustainability initiatives
- Develop partnerships with local businesses and non-profits for community engagement
- Monitor budget allocations and resource allocation for park improvements
- Conduct facility safety audits and compliance with ADA standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation Management or related field
- 3+ years experience in municipal recreation with budget oversight
- CPRP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven event management with 10+ large-scale projects
- Advanced knowledge of safety regulations and risk management
- Proficiency in recreation software (e.g., RecTrac, ActiveNet)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Demonstrated leadership managing teams of 5+ personnel
