Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end administration of defined benefit pension plans, including FERS and CSRS compliance.
- Process retirement applications, conduct thorough eligibility reviews, and calculate monthly pension payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering complex inquiries regarding retirement estimates and survivor benefits.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations, ERISA laws, and internal compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the finance department to resolve discrepancies in payroll and benefit records.
- Assist in the preparation of annual actuarial valuations and reporting requirements.
- Conduct audits of pension records to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal HR.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS).
- Proficiency in using HRIS software (e.g., SAP, Workday, or ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to members.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
