Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Administration: Oversee the daily operations of federal pension plans, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with ERISA regulations.
- Employee Consultation: Provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding pension eligibility, survivor benefits, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) allocations.
- Compliance Auditing: Conduct internal audits to ensure all pension activities adhere to strict federal guidelines and internal policies.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in the implementation of new pension policies and procedures for the Indianapolis office and Virginia remote teams.
- Case Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex pension discrepancies and employee inquiries efficiently and empathetically.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal benefits administration or private pension plan management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Workday) and federal software platforms.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and other federal retirement structures.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for training and advising staff.
