Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for City Council and Mayor's Office
- Lead interdepartmental task forces on housing, transportation, and climate action
- Analyze legislative impacts and regulatory compliance requirements
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with community groups and industry partners
- Prepare briefing documents and policy implementation roadmaps
- Monitor federal/state policy changes affecting municipal operations
- Mentor junior policy analysts and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years policy development experience in government or non-profit
- Expertise in Pacific Northwest regulatory frameworks
- Advanced data analysis and GIS mapping skills
- Proven stakeholder management across diverse communities
- Washington State residency required at hire
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
