Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based policy recommendations addressing urban challenges in housing, education, and economic development
- Analyze complex legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement equitable policy solutions for DC residents
- Present findings to senior leadership and public stakeholders through compelling reports and presentations
- Monitor federal and local legislative trends to identify emerging opportunities and risks
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives including community forums and interagency working groups
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field (5+ years relevant experience may substitute)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in government, non-profit, or research setting
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and data visualization
- Demonstrated success in drafting policy briefs and legislative testimony
- Deep knowledge of DC's governmental structure and regulatory framework
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation for field work
