Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and recommend evidence-based solutions to advance agency objectives
- Research and draft policy briefs, legislative proposals, and implementation plans
- Conduct stakeholder engagement sessions with community groups, elected officials, and private partners
- Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting District operations
- Develop quantitative models to assess policy impacts and ROI
- Lead interdepartmental task forces on cross-cutting initiatives
- Maintain compliance with District regulations and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, Stata, or Python)
- Demonstrated success in translating data into actionable policy recommendations
- Exceptional written communication with published policy papers or reports
- Experience with DC government operations and regulatory frameworks
- Valid driver's license (required for occasional field visits)
