Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based transportation policies aligned with state and federal regulations
- Analyze complex urban mobility data to identify infrastructure improvement opportunities in Detroit metropolitan area
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance multimodal transportation projects
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for senior leadership
- Manage stakeholder engagement with community organizations, local government, and private sector partners
- Monitor federal grant opportunities and ensure compliance with funding requirements
- Lead public outreach initiatives to gather community input on transportation initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government transportation policy or urban planning
- Expertise in federal transportation funding programs (FAST Act, Infrastructure Investment Act)
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative analysis tools (GIS, SPSS, or similar)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful public policy initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports
- Knowledge of Michigan transportation regulations and Detroit metropolitan area infrastructure
- Valid Michigan driver's license
