Responsibilities
- Develop and implement statewide technology policy frameworks aligned with digital equity goals
- Analyze emerging tech trends (AI, blockchain, cybersecurity) for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to align technology initiatives with state priorities
- Lead cross-functional working groups on data governance and privacy regulations
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for leadership
- Manage vendor relationships for technology procurement and compliance
- Monitor federal tech legislation and adapt state policies accordingly
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, IT, or related field
- 5+ years technology policy analysis experience in government
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Tableau)
- Deep understanding of federal/state tech regulations (FISMA, HIPAA)
- Experience drafting legislation or regulatory frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management across public/private sectors
- Illinois residency required within 90 days of hire
- CompTIA Security+ certification preferred
