The City of Fresno is urgently seeking an experienced Senior Public Health Administrator to drive transformative health initiatives across our diverse communities. Lead critical programs addressing public health emergencies, chronic disease prevention, and health equity. Collaborate with federal/state partners and local agencies to implement evidence-based strategies that improve resident wellbeing. This high-impact role requires strategic vision and hands-on community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee development and execution of public health emergency response plans
- Manage grant-funded health initiatives totaling $2M+ annually
- Lead cross-departmental health equity initiatives
- Coordinate with CA Department of Public Health and CDC
- Analyze health data trends to inform policy recommendations
- Supervise 15+ public health professionals and contractors
- Represent City in regional health coalitions
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field
- 5+ years government/public health leadership experience
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Expertise in health data analysis and reporting
- Proven grant management success
- Strong crisis communication skills
- Knowledge of CA public health regulations
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
