Join Texas's premier public health agency in an immediate opening for a Senior Public Health Emergency Coordinator. This critical role leads crisis response initiatives across the Houston metropolitan area, safeguarding community health during disasters and outbreaks. You'll collaborate with federal, state, and local partners to develop actionable emergency plans, coordinate resource allocation, and implement public health interventions. Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations during public health crises
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency preparedness plans for Houston region
- Lead training programs for public health professionals and community responders
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform crisis intervention strategies
- Manage federal/state grant funding for emergency response initiatives
- Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend system improvements
- Represent agency at emergency management council meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in emergency management or public health crisis response
- Experience with Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Texas Public Health Emergency Registration (PHER) certification
- Advanced knowledge of CDC/EMAC emergency frameworks
- Strong data analysis and GIS mapping capabilities
- Excellent cross-agency communication and negotiation skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
