The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services seeks an experienced Senior Public Health Emergency Response Coordinator to join our urgent initiative in Charlotte. Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations for public health crises
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for 10+ counties
- Lead incident command system (ICS) activations during public health emergencies
- Manage crisis communication strategies across state and local channels
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform response decisions
- Train 50+ public health professionals annually in emergency protocols
- Collaborate with FEMA and federal health agencies on disaster response
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 5+ years of public health emergency response experience
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential
- Expertise in incident command systems (ICS-400 level)
- Demonstrated crisis communication leadership experience
- Experience with NC state health department regulations
- Advanced data analysis skills using public health surveillance tools
