Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Lead epidemiological investigations and data-driven decision-making for community health initiatives
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises and natural disasters
- Collaborate with community stakeholders, healthcare providers, and government agencies
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with federal/state health regulations
- Train and mentor junior staff on public health best practices and compliance standards
- Prepare comprehensive reports for public health board meetings and legislative bodies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health experience in government or non-profit settings
- California Public Health Certification (CPH) or equivalent
- Expertise in health data analysis using SPSS, SAS, or R programming
- Proven experience managing grant-funded health initiatives ($500K+ budgets)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Title X, and California Health & Safety Code requirements
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
