Responsibilities
- Oversee design and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Conduct site inspections and technical reviews for construction quality assurance
- Develop innovative solutions for climate resilience and sustainable infrastructure
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and permit applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 5+ years of progressive experience in public works or municipal engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong proficiency with CAD software (Auto Civil 3D) and GIS systems
- Experience with VDOT standards and Virginia DEQ regulations
- Proven project management skills with PMP certification preferred
- Excellent communication skills for public presentations and stakeholder engagement
