Responsibilities
- Oversee design and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Manage engineering teams and contractors ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Develop capital improvement plans and budgets for public works initiatives
- Conduct technical reviews and approve engineering plans and specifications
- Coordinate with city departments, agencies, and community stakeholders on project priorities
- Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, challenges, and solutions
- Stay current with emerging infrastructure technologies and sustainable practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in public works engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- Proven experience managing municipal infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal engineering regulations
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Certification in project management (PMP) or public administration (CPM) preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license
