Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway, bridge, and transit infrastructure projects in compliance with MUTCD and NDOT standards
- Conduct traffic impact studies and prepare detailed engineering reports for complex transportation systems
- Manage project budgets and timelines while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and government agencies
- Review and approve engineering plans/specifications for major infrastructure developments
- Implement Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies to enhance mobility and safety
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality control throughout project lifecycles
- Stay current with emerging transportation technologies and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience with highway design focus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Nevada or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic simulation software
- Demonstrated experience with federal/state transportation funding programs (e.g., STIP, FAST Act)
- Strong knowledge of NDOT design standards and MUTCD regulations
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and public presentations
