Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of major transportation infrastructure projects in Los Angeles County
- Conduct traffic analysis, environmental reviews, and feasibility studies for highway expansions
- Oversee contractor compliance with state engineering standards and safety protocols
- Manage project budgets exceeding $50M and coordinate multi-agency stakeholder communications
- Develop innovative solutions for traffic congestion mitigation and multimodal integration
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to Caltrans' quality management systems
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for executive leadership review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive transportation engineering experience
- Valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, traffic modeling software (e.g., Synchro), and GIS systems
- Demonstrated success leading complex infrastructure projects with $20M+ budgets
- Experience with environmental documentation (CEQA/NEPA) and public procurement processes
- Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve technical challenges under tight deadlines
