Responsibilities
- Design and oversee transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and transit systems
- Conduct traffic impact studies and recommend engineering solutions
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications
- Coordinate with federal, state, and municipal agencies for project alignment
- Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with MDOT/FHA regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional project teams
- Implement sustainable design practices in all transportation initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with state/federal projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic simulation software
- Demonstrated experience with MDOT design standards and procurement processes
- Strong project management skills with $10M+ project delivery record
- Excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder management abilities
