Responsibilities
- Oversee design and construction of public infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and water systems
- Manage project budgets exceeding $5M and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering plans and specifications
- Lead emergency response efforts for critical infrastructure failures
- Mentor junior engineers and interns
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for city council
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 7 years of progressive engineering experience in public works
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
- Proven track record of managing complex infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of Caltrans and federal DOT regulations
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class C California driver's license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
