Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of server infrastructure, including maintenance, patching, and performance tuning.
- Design, implement, and monitor network security solutions and firewalls to protect against cyber threats.
- Lead migration projects for cloud services (Azure/AWS) and on-premise systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior system administrators and IT staff.
- Respond to and resolve critical system outages with minimal downtime for government services.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), and Active Directory.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- CISSP, Security+, or CCNP certification is highly preferred.
