Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the county's server infrastructure, including Windows Server and virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
- Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, and network services to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Implement and monitor disaster recovery and backup solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy software updates, patches, and system upgrades.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior administrators and junior IT staff.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to comply with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or a related IT field.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly preferred.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or higher certification is a strong plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
