Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot server infrastructure and network systems during off-peak hours to ensure 24/7 operational uptime.
- Perform security patching, software updates, and configuration management to ensure strict compliance with federal IT security standards.
- Respond to critical system alerts and resolve hardware or software failures efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Document incident reports, maintenance logs, and system configurations in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the day-shift engineering team to ensure seamless operations and effective knowledge transfer during shift handovers.
- Conduct routine audits of system performance and data integrity.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, specifically within a federal or defense contracting environment.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work rotating Night Shifts (e.g., 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) consistently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
