Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for software development and system improvements.
- Design, develop, and implement complex database systems and application interfaces to support state agency operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, and stakeholders, to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Perform system testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues and ensure system stability.
- Document technical processes and maintain detailed records of system changes and configurations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and IT staff within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, business analysis, or software development.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, and/or Python programming languages.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced government environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
