Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and deployment of complex server and network infrastructure solutions.
- Manage cloud migration initiatives and ensure optimal performance of AWS and on-premise hybrid environments.
- Oversee system security protocols, ensuring compliance with state and federal cybersecurity standards (FISMA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot high-impact technical issues and drive system modernization.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, disaster recovery plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for system administration and scripting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, network administration, or infrastructure architecture.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Deep knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, or CCNP are highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
