Responsibilities
- Lead System Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) for state-level applications, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery protocols.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze system bottlenecks and implement high-performance solutions to handle high-volume government data traffic.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Enforce strict federal and state security standards (FISMA, NIST) to protect sensitive citizen data and government networks.
- Collaborative Development: Partner with cross-functional Agile teams, including developers and policy analysts, to translate complex requirements into robust technical architectures.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee 24/7 system health monitoring, incident response, and proactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Innovation Implementation: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to modernize legacy government systems and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, infrastructure architecture, or cloud computing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go; deep knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is a plus.
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and government officials.
