Responsibilities
- Design and oversee transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and transit systems
- Conduct traffic analysis and impact studies using industry-standard software
- Prepare engineering reports, plans, and specifications for project implementation
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on project compliance and funding
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical documentation for accuracy
- Ensure adherence to NC DOT standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with state/federal projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic modeling software
- Demonstrated knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO standards, and NC DOT specifications
- Strong project management skills with $5M+ project experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
