Responsibilities
- Oversee design and execution of highway, bridge, and transit improvement projects
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communications
- Ensure compliance with federal/state transportation regulations and safety standards
- Lead interdisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and agency partners
- Conduct traffic studies and impact analyses for infrastructure planning
- Utilize CAD/GIS technologies for design documentation and visualization
- Prepare technical reports and permit applications for regulatory approvals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with DOT projects
- PE license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic modeling software
- Demonstrated project management experience with $5M+ budgets
- Strong knowledge of NCDOT design standards and federal regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for sensitive projects
