Responsibilities
- Lead development of comprehensive transportation master plans for urban and rural communities
- Analyze traffic patterns and transit data using GIS/CADD systems to optimize infrastructure investments
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies on compliance with NEPA and environmental regulations
- Manage public engagement processes and present findings to municipal boards and legislative committees
- Prepare funding applications for federal/state grants totaling $50M+ annually
- Mentor junior planners and oversee technical documentation deliverables
- Research emerging mobility technologies and recommend policy innovations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience
- Professional certification (AICP, PE, or PTOE) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in transportation modeling software (TransCAD, Cube)
- Demonstrated success securing federal/state transportation grants
- Expertise in ADA compliance and complete streets design principles
- Strong quantitative analysis skills with transportation demand forecasting
- Excellent written/verbal communication and public presentation abilities
